Well we finally started on the 240 last night. I bought the car a little over 3 years ago and I was planning on doing the motor and tranny swap a long time ago. I ended up running into some $ issues and the timing just wasn't right. Now that I can actually do the swap I ran into another problem with finding a painter. I had a friend that was going to respray the car, but he ended up getting laid off from his job at Abra. Now this discouraged me so much that I was going to just sell the car and not even deal with it. After thinking it over I couldn't let a little thing like finding a new painter stop me from what I've wanted to do for years. I finally found a new painter that is going to spray the car in 2 months. He has over 20 years experience, a full service body shop in his garage, and a 20 foot enclosed trailer. He comes and picks up the car and delivers it when it's done. Enough of the talk, heres the progress Matt, Justin, Jared, Brian, and I made last night.
KA in it's home, but not for long
Driveshaft removed
Matt working
Automatic FTL!!!!!!!!
Ready to be lifted out
Goodbye KA you won't be missed
KA is out
Leftovers
Some idiot in the engine bay
I still need to:
-mount the clutch pedal
-mount the clutch master cylinder
-clean up the engine bay
-clean up the steering rack
-removed EVERYTHING from the engine bay, since it will be painted
-order my IC so I can cut the bumper and holes for the piping in the engine bay before paint
I'm sure theres more, but I will keep this thread updated as I make more and more progress.
